1. Welcome

Opening Message

Welcome to the August 2026 edition of The Chronicle.

The first edition introduced The Chronicle as a place to document the people, ideas, achievements, experiences, and projects that continue to shape the wider ASCEND community. This month, the story moves forward.

August represents a period of growth and transition. ASCEND Pro Systems is continuing to develop its identity; its professional systems are becoming more established, new recognition and learning opportunities are taking shape, and the first stages of research are beginning to show what happens when ideas are put into practice.

At the same time, the wider community continues to provide stories worth sharing.

This edition takes us through those different parts of the journey.

We look at the evolving identity of ASCEND Pro Systems and what sits behind the new structure. We explore the experiences of the educational community and the organizations working within it. We recognize educators whose contributions deserve to be remembered, while also hearing directly from the people experiencing professional growth along the way.

We also begin looking more closely at evidence and experience through Research & Insights, including the first 60 days of ASCEND implementation and the lessons emerging from that period.

Beyond professional life, the Explorer’s Journal continues to look at places, experiences, and discoveries worth stepping away from the usual routine to enjoy.

Within Forge, the creative publishing side of ASCEND Pro Systems is beginning to take shape through the development of original games, publications, and creative projects. Including the continuing development of the Estelia Universes.

What connects all of these stories is progress. Not everything featured in this edition is finished. Some things are still being tested. Some are still being developed. Others are being remembered because they have already made an impact.

The Chronicle is not only about looking back at what has been accomplished. It is about documenting what is happening now and giving readers a chance to follow where it goes next.

The August Edition

This month, we continue the journey with stories of identity, recognition, community, research, exploration, and creation.

There are achievements to celebrate, lessons to share, places to discover, and new projects beginning to emerge.

Most importantly, there are people behind all of them. Thank you for continuing to read, contribute, and follow the journey. This is only the beginning.

Growing Educators. Building Legacies.

A New Identity: Introducing the ASCEND Brand

Written by Curtis Shelton, Founder, ASCEND Professional Systems

Organizations evolve.

As ideas become systems, systems become programs, and programs grow into something larger, there eventually comes a point where the identity of the organization needs to reflect what it has become. For ASCEND Professional Systems, that moment has arrived.

This month, ASCEND begins introducing a new visual identity and a new organizational structure designed to better represent the growing ecosystem behind the ASCEND name. The new logo is only the beginning. Behind it is a clearer way of understanding what ASCEND is, what it provides, and where it is going.

A New ASCEND

ASCEND was originally developed from a simple observation: people and organizations often want to grow, but the systems surrounding that growth are not always clear.

Professional expectations can exist in one place. Training can exist somewhere else. Recognition may happen informally. Leadership development may not have a defined pathway. Creative ideas may have nowhere to develop. ASCEND was created to begin connecting those pieces.

Today, that idea has developed into a broader ecosystem built around three connected areas:

Professional Solutions

Building Better Systems for Organizations

Professional Solutions is the organizational side of ASCEND.

It focuses on helping organizations develop practical systems for professional growth, learning, leadership, recognition, and development.

This can include:

  • Professional Growth Systems

  • Training & Development Systems

  • Leadership Development

  • Organizational Hubs

  • Recognition & Development Systems

  • Framework Adoption

  • Administrative and professional systems

The goal is not to make every organization operate like ASCEND. The goal is to understand what an organization actually needs and build systems that work for the people using them.

Professional Development

Learn. Develop. Advance.

Professional Development represents the learning side of ASCEND.

Learning does not end when someone finishes school, completes a degree, or attends a training session. Development continues through practice, feedback, experience, responsibility, and opportunities to apply what has been learned.

ASCEND Professional Development is being developed to provide:

  • Learning Resources

  • Training & Workshops

  • Professional Learning Pathways

  • Certification

  • Professional Development Opportunities

  • Custom Development

The purpose is to help individuals continue building the knowledge, skills, judgment, leadership, and adaptability needed throughout their professional journey.

ASCEND Forge

Where Imagination Becomes Reality.

The third part of the ecosystem is ASCEND Forge.

Forge is the creative publishing and intellectual property division of ASCEND, providing a space for creators, collaborators, and communities to develop original ideas. While Professional Solutions focuses on organizations and Professional Development focuses on people, Forge creates space for creativity, experimentation, and original work.

Forge explores:

  • Tabletop Games & TTRPGs

  • Books & Publications

  • Digital Creative Works

  • Original Intellectual Property

  • Creator Development

  • Playtesting & Community

  • Creative Collaborations

This is where ideas can be explored before they become finished products—and where creators can build, test, learn, revise, and ultimately bring their ideas into reality.

One System. Many Paths to Growth.

The new ASCEND identity brings these ideas together under one system.

  • Professional Solutions helps organizations build the systems.

  • Professional Development helps people build their capabilities.

  • ASCEND Forge creates space for imagination, experimentation, and creative development.

Together, they form the growing ASCEND ecosystem.

This structure also reflects something important about the future of ASCEND: it is no longer designed around one type of person or one type of organization.

ASCEND works with:

Organizations - schools, businesses, nonprofits, professional groups, and other organizations seeking clearer systems for development, leadership, learning, and recognition.

Professionals - people looking for practical resources, training, development opportunities, and pathways for continued growth.

Creators - writers, designers, artists, game developers, storytellers, and independent creators developing original ideas through ASCEND Forge.

The Website Evolves With the Brand

The new identity is also reflected in the continued development of the ASCEND website.

The website is becoming more than a place to learn about ASCEND. It is developing into a central gateway to the wider ecosystem.

Visitors can now navigate between:

  • Solutions - organizational frameworks and systems

  • Development - training, learning, certification, and professional resources

  • Forge - publishing, creative projects, games, community, and intellectual property

  • Community - connection, recognition, and The Chronicle

  • Insights - future research, articles, white papers, and case studies

Additional resources include professional portals, online learning, certificates and transcripts, record verification, Forge publications, playtesting, recognition, and community initiatives.

The goal is simple: make ASCEND easier to understand, easier to navigate, and easier to engage with.

The Next Chapter

The introduction of the new ASCEND identity marks the beginning of a new chapter—not the end of the previous one.

The mission remains centered on helping people and organizations grow through structure, development, leadership, recognition, adaptability, and creativity.

What is changing is how those ideas are organized, presented, and made accessible.

Professional Solutions. Professional Development. ASCEND Forge. Three paths. One growing ecosystem.

Professional in Purpose. Legendary in Experience.

EP Plus Learning

Supporting English Education and Professional Growth Across Thailand

Education is built through people, relationships, and communities. Across Thailand, organizations continue to play an important role in supporting schools, educators, and students as they work toward stronger learning experiences.

In this edition of The Chronicle, we take a closer look at EP Plus Learning, one of Thailand’s long-standing educational organizations and an organization with a significant presence in English education and school development.

A Commitment to English Education

With more than two decades of experience in education and English language program management, EP Plus Learning has developed a broad role within Thailand’s educational landscape.

The organization supports schools through foreign teacher recruitment and placement, English Program management, curriculum services, teacher development, and professional support. Its work reflects an understanding that successful English education requires more than simply placing teachers in classrooms. It requires systems, preparation, communication, and continued development.

EP Plus Learning's work also includes curriculum services aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) helps schools establish structured approaches to English language learning and development.

Supporting Educators

Behind every successful learning environment are educators who need the right preparation, guidance, and support.

EP Plus Learning provides professional support for teachers working within school environments, including teacher training, lesson planning, organizational expectations, and introductions to Thai culture and school practices.

This type of support is particularly important for educators entering a new school or educational environment. Helping teachers understand not only what they teach, but also how they operate within a school community, can contribute to stronger relationships and more effective learning experiences.

Supporting Schools Across Thailand

EP Plus Learning works with educational organizations and schools across Thailand, helping schools develop and manage English-language learning programs while supporting the educators who deliver them.

Its role demonstrates an important aspect of modern education: schools rarely

operate in isolation.

Strong educational communities are built through connections between schools, educators, program providers, families, and the wider community. Each contributes a different part of the learning ecosystem.

A Community Built Around Learning

For ASCEND, this is an important part of the educational story.

The Chronicle exists to document more than the development of ASCEND itself. It also provides a space to recognize the people and organizations contributing to education around us.

EP Plus Learning represents one example of how educational organizations can contribute to that wider ecosystem through English education, teacher support, professional development, and collaboration with schools.

As education continues to evolve, the strength of the community surrounding schools will remain an important part of that development.

Future Features

From the Community will continue exploring the people, schools, organizations, and experiences that make up the educational community.

Future features may include:

  • School Spotlights

  • Educational Organizations

  • Community Collaborations

  • Industry Connections

  • Educational Services

  • Educator Spotlights

  • School Community Stories

  • Community Projects

Through these stories, The Chronicle will continue to highlight the people and organizations helping shape education, one community at a time.

Growing Educators. Building Communities. Building Legacies.

4. The Path of Achievement

Recognizing a Lasting Contribution

This month, The Chronicle recognizes several educators who have recently moved into new chapters, including Ms. Karen Mae Lacia Llanita.

Karen dedicated more than six and a half years to the Denla Phetkasem community while working with the EP+ Learning Group. During that time, she supported children from their early Kindergarten years through their progression into Primary education.

More than six years of service represents countless lessons, relationships, milestones, and memories. For the students she taught, Karen became part of their educational journey, and that is a legacy that extends far beyond a classroom.

Before her departure, Karen was recognized with the EP+ Legacy Award, along with professional transcripts and a variety of other awards recognizing her contributions throughout her time with the organization.

As she begins her next chapter, she leaves behind a meaningful legacy of service and dedication.

She will be deeply missed, and her contribution will be remembered.

The Path of Achievement is ultimately about remembering that professional journeys matter.

Whether an educator continues within the same organization or moves forward to new opportunities, the work they have contributed and the people they have influenced remain part of their professional story.

A contribution deserves to be recognized.
An achievement deserves to be remembered.
A legacy deserves to continue.

5. Voices of the Guild

The Power of Being Recognized

As ASCEND continues to develop, one of the things that has been especially meaningful to see is the recognition it is beginning to receive for what it is trying to accomplish.

At its heart, ASCEND has always been about helping people move forward. Not just telling someone where they need to improve, but also taking the time to recognize what they are already doing well, the progress they have made, and the effort they continue to put into their work.

That may sound simple, but it can make a tremendous difference.

In many workplaces, recognition tends to come when something goes wrong. A mistake is noticed. A problem is discussed. An area for improvement is identified.

Those conversations are necessary, but they should not be the only conversations people have about their professional lives. People also deserve to hear when they are doing something right.

A teacher who has grown more confident in the classroom. Someone who has taken on a new responsibility. A colleague who consistently helps others. Someone who has worked hard to improve themselves, even when nobody was watching. Those things matter too.

One of the ideas behind ASCEND is that professional growth should not feel like a constant search for what is wrong. It should also give people opportunities to see how far they have come.

Recognition can give someone the encouragement to keep going. Sometimes, simply having someone say, “We see what you are doing,” can change how a person feels about the work they are doing. That is where the Voices of the Guild comes in.

This section of The Chronicle is about the people behind the work. It is a place for teachers, professionals, leaders, creators, and members of the wider community to share their experiences, their challenges, their successes, and sometimes simply their thoughts about the journey they are on. Behind every system, certificate, achievement, or professional milestone is a person.

As ASCEND continues to grow and receive greater recognition, the hope is that more opportunities will be created for people to continue developing from where they are. Not because they are being told they are not good enough, but because they are being reminded that they are capable of becoming even more.

Sometimes progress starts with a lesson. Sometimes it starts with an opportunity.

Sometimes it simply starts with someone recognizing that you are already moving in the right direction.

6. Research & Insights

Building Momentum: The First 60 Days of ASCEND

The introduction of the ASCEND Framework was never intended to be something that could be measured after only a few weeks. A framework can be introduced quickly, but understanding how people respond to it, how it becomes part of everyday practice, and whether it creates meaningful change takes time.

That is why the first 60 days became an important period of observation.

Building Momentum: The First 60 Days of ASCEND documents the transition from introducing the framework to seeing it begin to operate within participating educational departments. During this period, the focus moved beyond simply explaining what ASCEND was and toward seeing how people actually interacted with it.

The research looks at staff participation, adoption of the framework, recognition activity, accountability, transparency, professional development, teacher feedback, leadership observations, and the operational changes that took place as implementation progressed.

It is important to understand that this first 60-day period was not intended to demonstrate a complete transformation of organizational culture. That would be far too early to claim.

Instead, the purpose was to understand the beginning.

  • What happened when the framework was introduced?

  • How did the staff respond?

  • Which parts were adopted quickly?

  • Where were there difficulties?

  • What began to change?

And perhaps most importantly, what could be learned from the experience?

The answers to those questions have helped shape the continued development of

ASCEND and provide an early foundation for understanding its potential impact.

This research also marks the beginning of a longer evaluation process. The next stage will move toward a 90-Day Impact Assessment, examining whether the early improvements and patterns observed during these first 60 days begin to develop into sustained changes in professional culture and organizational practice.

Explore the Full Research

The Chronicle provides only an introduction to this research. The complete Building Momentum: The First 60 Days of ASCEND report is available through the ASCEND website for those who want to explore the implementation process and findings in greater depth.

This is the first in an ongoing series of research and case studies documenting the development, implementation, and continued evolution of ASCEND.

The goal is simple: don’t just build a framework. Study what happens when it is put into practice.

In House Cafe & Restaurant

A Riverside Restaurant Worth Discovering

Sometimes you find a restaurant because someone recommends it to you. Other times, you happen to visit and realize you've found somewhere that you would actually recommend to other people.

That was our experience with In House Cafe & Restaurant in Sam Phran, Nakhon Pathom. The restaurant sits beside the Tha Chin River, and the setting is genuinely beautiful.

There are riverside and garden areas, indoor air-conditioned seating, spacious parking, wheelchair access with a ramp, and a small outdoor play area for children. The restaurant also provides options for gatherings, meetings, celebrations, weddings, and catering.

For us, coming from the Phetkasem side of Bangkok, it was only around a 20–30 minute drive depending on traffic. That made it feel like a much easier escape from the city than many places with this kind of setting.

Once you arrive, the river immediately changes the atmosphere. It is quieter, greener, and more relaxed than what you normally experience around Bangkok. There are several areas to sit, so you can decide whether you want to enjoy the river and garden or stay inside with the air conditioning.

We were visiting as a family, and the space worked really well for us. The parking was easy, there was plenty of room, and having a small playground for children is always a welcome addition when you're trying to enjoy a longer meal. But what really made the visit stand out was the food.

We ordered quite a few different things, and one of my personal favorites was the barbecue pork nachos. What makes them different is that the restaurant uses roti instead of traditional tortilla chips. The crispy roti works surprisingly well with the barbecue pork, and when you add the salsa and cheese, it becomes a really satisfying dish. It was one of those things I wasn't expecting to like as much as I did.

The spinach spaghetti carbonara was another favorite, particularly for my son. He can be a fairly picky eater, so we don't always know what he is going to be interested in eating. He absolutely loved this one.

We also ordered the shrimp and glass noodles served in a metal pot. I may not remember the proper Thai name for the dish, but I definitely remember the food. The shrimp were cooked well, the portion was good, and the price was very reasonable. It was one of the better Thai seafood dishes we had during the visit.

The shrimp omelette with Thai spicy salsa was another dish that impressed me. The omelette was fluffy and cooked properly; the shrimp had a good texture, and the spicy salsa gave it some extra flavor without overwhelming everything else.

Those dishes only represent part of what we tried. The restaurant has a good selection of Thai and international food, which is helpful when you are eating with a group, and everyone wants something different.

My wife was particularly impressed with the food and said it was some of the best she has had. That is a pretty strong endorsement.

What I think makes In House especially interesting, though, is that the food isn't the only reason to stay. If you visit during one of the quieter parts of the day, the restaurant is actually a very comfortable place to sit for a while. I could easily see myself coming here alone with a laptop, ordering a coffee and some food, and spending part of the afternoon working beside the river. That's not something I expected when we first visited.

It also means the restaurant can serve very different purposes depending on who you are visiting with. Families can enjoy the playground and open space. Friends can meet for lunch. Couples can enjoy the riverside setting. Colleagues can use it for a meeting or gathering. Someone working remotely can simply find a quieter place to spend a few hours.

The restaurant's own information also highlights its suitability for meetings, celebrations, weddings, catering, and larger events.

The accessibility features are another positive. Having wheelchair access and a ramp means the space is more welcoming to guests with mobility needs, while the combination of indoor and outdoor seating gives people more flexibility depending on the weather and their preferences.

What stayed with me after the visit was really just how easy the whole experience was. We could park without a problem, find somewhere comfortable to sit, let the kids have some space, order a mixture of Thai and international food, enjoy the river, and take our time.

You want somewhere where you can have a good meal and then realize that you have been sitting there for another hour because you're enjoying the surroundings. That was In House for us.

The Explorer’s Journal Verdict

Explorer's Journal is our way of sharing the places and experiences that we discover along the way. These aren't intended to be formal industry evaluations. They are first-hand reviews. Places we have actually visited and enjoyed enough to believe other members of the ASCEND Guild community might want to discover for themselves.

In House Cafe & Restaurant is definitely one of those places.

The food was excellent, the setting was beautiful, and the restaurant works for a surprisingly wide range of people and occasions. Whether you're looking for a family lunch, somewhere to meet friends, a place for a celebration, or simply somewhere peaceful to sit with a coffee, it is worth considering.

For anyone on the Phetkasem side of Bangkok, especially if you're looking for somewhere that feels like a short escape from the city without requiring a long drive, I would highly recommend giving it a try. We certainly plan to go back.

Founder’s Review & Community Discovery

Explorer’s Journal is part of the wider ASCEND Guild community. It is a first-hand discovery series built around places, experiences, businesses, events, games, and other things that are worth sharing with the community.

The idea is simple: go somewhere, experience it for yourself, and tell people what you actually thought.

8. Forge

Stories Forged. Creativity Preserved.

ASCEND Forge is entering a new chapter.

As the creative publishing division of ASCEND Pro Systems, Forge exists to develop, produce, and publish original tabletop games, books, digital resources, and other creative works. It is where ideas move beyond development and begin the journey toward becoming something people can actually experience, play, read, and keep.

Forge is not simply another community space. It is the publishing side of ASCEND Pro Systems. A creative studio built around the idea that good creative work deserves the opportunity to be developed properly and presented professionally.

The work being developed through Forge includes original intellectual property created within ASCEND, as well as opportunities for creators to work with Forge through publishing, collaborative development, and other creative pathways.

At the heart of that work is a simple philosophy: Professional Quality. Creative Excellence. Thoughtful Design. Lasting Value.

Forge is currently developing its first major projects, with Estelia Universes serving as its flagship tabletop property.

Estelia Universes

The first major focus is the development of the Estelia Universes TTRPG, with work continuing toward the Official Core Rulebook Version 1.0.

The system has continued to evolve through playtesting, community discussion, feedback, polls, and ongoing refinement. Rather than rushing toward publication, the goal is to build a ruleset that is understandable, playable, and strong enough to serve as the foundation for the wider Estelia universe.

Alongside the complete Core Rulebook, Forge is also working toward a Digital Free Edition of the core rules, giving new players an accessible way to discover the game while maintaining a complete version for those who want the full experience.

Estelia Universes: Legends

The second major project is Estelia Universes: Legends, a tabletop card game set within the same wider universe.

The first Battle Box is currently working under the title Divine Conflict, bringing two opposing forces into conflict: The Purist Church & The Temple of the Fallen

Development is continuing alongside testing and community feedback, with additional ideas beginning to expand the wider Legends experience.

One of those ideas is the Azure Guild (working title), a collaborative faction intended to bring characters from other games developed within the ASCEND Forge community into the Legends universe. Current concepts include characters from Starfall Union, Soul Gates TCG, and Atria Legends TCG.

These projects are still being developed, and that is an important part of the Forge philosophy. The goal is not simply to announce finished products. It is to show the creative process as it happens.

Building Things Worth Keeping

The Forge is ultimately about more than publishing individual games.

It is about creating a place where ideas can be developed carefully, where creators can retain ownership of their work, where collaboration can happen with clear expectations, and where creative projects can grow beyond their first release.

Some projects will begin as Forge Originals. Others may come through creators looking for publishing support. Some may develop through collaboration or co-development.

Each project will have its own journey. That journey is what Forge is here to support.

The Forge is still young, but its purpose is becoming clearer with every project, every playtest, and every piece of feedback.

Stories Forged. Creativity Preserved.

9. Coming Soon

Building What Comes Next

There is a difference between having a vision and knowing what comes next.

The next stage for ASCEND is about turning the foundations that have been built into systems, projects, publications, and experiences that people can actually use.

Some of that work is happening within ASCEND Pro Systems itself. Some are happening through professional development and community initiatives. And some are taking shape through ASCEND Forge.

The following roadmap gives a look at what is currently being developed and where the organization is heading next.

ASCEND Forge - 2026 to Early 2027

ASCEND Forge is moving from its foundation-building stage into active development.

Completed

The core infrastructure for Forge has now been established, including:

  • ASCEND Forge Hub

  • Forge Publication Page

  • Forge Community Page

  • Forge Playtester Page

  • Forge Recognition & Certification Page

  • ASCEND Forge Discord

These foundations provide the structure needed to support the projects that are now moving forward.

Currently in Development

The next stage includes:

  • Playtester Application

  • Playtester To-Do List

  • Forge Workshop

  • Creator’s Forge

These systems are being developed to create a more organized pathway from discovering a project to participating in its development and eventually seeing it published.

Estelia Universes TTRPG

Through the remainder of 2026, the primary focus will remain on the Official Core Rulebook Version 1.0.

The rules will continue to be refined through community feedback, polls, playtesting, and collected development data.

The goal for early 2027 is to release both the complete Core Rulebook Version 1.0 and a Digital Free Edition of the Core Rules.

The free edition will provide players with an accessible introduction to the system, while the complete rulebook will provide the full ruleset and supporting material.

Estelia Universes: Legends

Development will also continue on Estelia Universes: Legends - Divine Conflict.

The first Battle Box is being developed around the conflict between The Purist Church and The Temple of the Fallen.

Development of the Universal Guild (working title) will also begin, creating an opportunity to bring characters from other projects into the wider Legends experience, including concepts from Starfall Union, Soul Gates TCG, and Atria Legends TCG.

One of the major development goals for the end of 2026 is to establish a Tabletop Simulator version of the projects for structured digital playtesting.

Depending on development progress and playtesting results, an Alpha release of the Legends Battle Box may follow in early 2027.

What Comes After the Foundation

The roadmap is not intended to lock every future decision into place. Creative projects change as they are tested. Systems improve when people use them. Ideas sometimes become something very different from what was originally imagined. That is why this roadmap is better understood as a direction rather than a promise of fixed dates.

2026 is about building the Forge, developing the games, establishing the playtesting foundation, and learning from the community.

Early 2027 is about beginning to move those projects from development toward playable public releases.

Beyond that, the aim is to keep expanding what ASCEND can build, professionally, educationally, and creatively.

Looking Ahead

The Chronicle will continue to document that journey as it develops.

New projects will be introduced. Existing systems will evolve. Releases will move from ideas to prototypes, from prototypes to testing, and eventually from testing into the hands of the people they were created for. There is still a great deal to build, but that is exactly what makes the next chapter exciting.

10. Closing Reflection

The Chronicle Continues…

Every month brings something new.

New ideas are introduced. People reach new milestones. Projects move forward. Questions are raised, lessons are learned, and sometimes the direction changes because of what we discover along the way. That is what The Chronicle is here to capture.

This publication is not intended to be a record of only the finished work. It is also a record of the journey. The people behind the work, the communities that contribute to it, the research that informs it, the achievements worth celebrating, and the ideas that are still taking shape.

From the Guild Hall to the wider community, from professional recognition to research and insights, from the Explorer’s Journal to the work being developed through Forge, every section tells a different part of the story.

Some stories will belong to ASCEND. Others will belong to the educators, professionals, creators, schools, and communities connected to the wider journey. We want The Chronicle to remain open to those stories.

If you have an experience worth sharing, an achievement worth recognizing, an idea worth exploring, or a story that deserves a place in the record, we invite you to become part of the next chapter.

Thank you for reading, supporting, contributing, and continuing to be part of the journey.

Until next month, keep learning, keep building, keep creating, and keep moving forward.

Growing Educators. Building Legacies.
